The hand rankings are the same for 7 Card Stud as it is for almost every one of the hundreds of poker variations played around the world. The highest possible hand is a Royal Flush, and then in descending order are straight flush, four of a kind, full house, paint and Straight, Three of a Kind, Two pair, one pair, and High Card. The odds of being treated with a high hand in 7 Card Stud is lower than Texas Hold ‘Em because you must build your hand using only the cards you receive. As with any poker game, play 7 Card Stud starts with Ante: Each player pays a small amount in the pot to participate in the game. There are six steps in 7 Card Stud Poker, known as Third Street, Fourth Street, Fifth Street, Sixth Street, the river, and showdown. After inspection, each player receives two cards face down (called hole cards) and a face-up card. This initial deal is the third street.
