World Series of Poker Interest Heating Up
Published by admin on November 2, 2009
As the World Series of Poker approaches, public interest is really starting to heat up. This promises to be one of the more memorable WSOP events in history, with a group of final players that definitely provide a more intriguing battle for the bracelet than in recent years.
Many people believe Phil Ivey will overcome his significant chip deficit and take down the title, which would have to rank as one of the more impressive
comebacks in the history of the WSOP. Still others believe Jeff Shulman will be able to parlay his experience and stack into a WSOP victory. In addition to who people think will win, there’s also a lot of debate about which possible WSOP winner would be best for the poker industry and the game as a whole.
The November Nine format has been a very popular one so far for the WSOP and ESPN, and you can expect that both parties will have learned lessons from the NN’s inaugural run in 2008. This year should be tighter all around, now that Harrah’s and the guys in the TV studios have a better idea of exactly what they’re dealing with.
As quickly as ESPN will get the final table on television, however, there still will be even faster coverage online. Expect up-to-the-minute WSOP coverage on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites as the fans clamor to know every latest detail of every street of every hand – and the poker news sites oblige.
