Philip Laak is a well established name in the world of poker. His last name is pronounced lock, and he was born in Dublin, Ireland on September 8 1972. He is now living in the sunny Los Angeles in California. He participated in many nationally aired tv shows and he is also the winner of the famous World Poker Tour.

He was born in Dublin and spent most of his early years on the East Coast. He is now living it up in Las Vegas and LA. He’s got a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He first started to work as an engineer, repo man and later as a stock day trader. And before he actually started to play poker as a professional player he was a real estate investor. He is also a close friend and ex roommate of Antonio Esfandiari.

Phil Laak started to play poker back when he was only a child. One of his greatest achievements so far in the world of poker was winning the WPT Celebrity Invitational back in February 2004. Since that he also managed to make it to other two World Poker Tour finals.

Phil’s nickname is the Unabomber. He got this nickname thanks to his hooded sweatshirt and the fact that he always wears sunglasses at the table. He is also managing to stand out of the crowd thanks to its innovative manner of speech, which is also unusual. Right now he is dating a female poker player: Jennifer Tilly, which is also an actress. She managed to win a WSOP bracelet back in 2005.
