Erik Seidel, born in New York, was in the highlight even in childhood when he appeared on a TV show ‘To Tell The Truth’ at 12. He would invest in stock and had good knowledge of Wall Street fluctuations as a grown up. He loved playing poker but was a champion in backgammon as a kid. Suddenly, in a matter of months, he decided to take poker as a profession.

He started his WSOP career with a second place and never looked back. He is regarded as one of the best to have ever played poker due to his amazing consistency. He has won WSOP bracelets a whirlwind 7 times, World Poker title once and is a star attraction in Bellagio Big Game. His has earned a mammoth 9.2 million in his career as a poker player. He is among the top ten money winners in both Bellagio and Las Vegas, a record.

He loves easy life and follows tennis and music in his leisure. He also loves reminiscing on his past successful life. His achievements have been captured even on celluloid. The Hollywood movie Rounders’ climax revolved around his final match at WSOP table in 1988 with Johnny Chan. He lost the match. Johhny Chan plays himself in the movie, which also had Matt Damon and Edward Norton.
