David Plastik

Shifting towns

David Plastik was born in New Jersey but had to move to Nevada due to reasons. Later as a fabric salesman, he had to shift base in Los Angeles. So he had covered three states in USA pretty early in life.

Man of talents

He loved music and often attended concerts taking along his camera. He would click several photos and slowly, he became quite good at it. Bands began to pay him for covering them. Many oldies in his favorite yesteryear bands still recognize him. He was a rousing success in sales too. That is beside his communication degree from Stanford University.

Taking the game

He started playing poker at friendly meetings and found that he was good at this too. Money at stake was huge and he knew that he would be many times in the money. Besides his parents died in a hurry in late 90s and he was weaned off his family business. He had collected good money till then and decided to take the game of poker professionally.

Mixed bag

Though he has won quite a few major tournaments, a WSOP or WPT title still eludes him. He loves promoting and taking part in televised championships and won handsomely in one of those. He wins money regularly and takes part in many tournaments per year.

Bad decision

He put all his money in IT stocks. Following IT crash in 2000, he lost all his collected money and was shorn of his assets and house. But his effective way of making poker games profitable saved him the day.

Style

He loves playing it securely and never takes risk unless he is quite sure of success. That has made him lose temper more than once, and likewise, he enjoys his victories shouting. Perhaps his love for rock-and-roll has made him so.
