Annie Duke is a professional female poker player. She made her first public appearance and managed to show the world that women can play poker too. A long career playing poker plus a lot of hard work helped her reach the 14th position and earn $70,000 at the World Poker Tour.

She was born in Concord, New Hampshire and she graduated the St Paul prep school. She first wanted to follow the career of her parents as a teacher and went straight to the Columbia University but she ended at the University of Pennsylvania graduating the cognitive psychology.

In the year 1991 she got married with her old friend Ben Duke, and she managed to take an important step in her life by leaving all the studies behind. Later on she moved with her husband and started to play poker at the local poker rooms that she could find around her area. The winnings of these games went towards her mortgage on their first home.

And this is how the legend began. The moment she managed to win at the World Poker Tour, they started to realize that she has to move to the city of gambling (Las Vegas). Ever since that moment she started to participate in all the major poker live events from all over the world. One of the biggest achievements was the 10th place in 2000 at the WSOP event. An online poker room (Ultimate Bet) hired her to be the spokesperson for the company.

Annie Duke managed to become a poker superstar after she successfully won the incredible amount of $2 million event that was part of the World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions.

Ever since that moment she participated in many poker tournaments, and she is still part of Ultimate Bet team. So this means that if you are lucky you could play poker against her on the Ultimate Bet poker room.
